It all started when…

Miscellaneous Rentals founder and owner, Beth Puorro, started the business when she was working as a film production assistant and saw a way to simplify the job she and her peers were doing. The company is still operated by a team of film, event, and music industry veterans who are committed to simplifying your productions. We’ve been supporting local Austin productions and events for 3 0 years (!!!) and our equipment is used behind-the-scenes and in front of the camera for everything from SXSW to backyard weddings.

Beth is the spirit of Miscellaneous: generous, reliable, and endlessly charismatic. The best live music Beth has ever seen was “the Pixies at ACL when they got back together for two minutes,” but the best live music we’ve ever seen is her all-girls Guns N’ Roses cover band, Paradise Titty.

pam whitehouse | general manager

Pam keeps things in order at Miscellaneous, but don’t be fooled by her love of databases: she’s got an adventurous spirit! Watching Indiana Jones as a child sparked a life-long love of archaeology for Pam — she’ll do the digging to get the job done!

quentin ‘Q’ shaffer | ops manager

This dude keeps the warehouse in shape and Misc couldn’t function without him.

ashley rathburn | sales & marketing manager

Ashley's main goals in life are to help as many people as possible in any way she can, to learn how to whistle, and to actually slip on a banana peel. When she’s not working at Misc, you can find her wishing there were more hours in the day so that she could sleep as much as she wants but still get things done.

She also loves cats, karaoke, tap dance, and being the center of attention. She’s pro-ketchup, hates bleu cheese, and gets SAD in the summer instead of the winter.

Warehouse/ Delivery Driver

Main duties: Load/unload trucks, deliver/pickup orders to complete truck route, setup and break down equipment on jobs, know inventory and how it works, provide excellent customer service, reset inventory and other tasks as needed.

Job requirements: valid drivers license, ability to lift 50 lbs., weekend availability, attention to detail, punctuality and dependability, strong communication skills.
Starting pay is $18/hour. Opportunity for after-hours bonus pay.

Warehouse/Linen Associate

Main duties: Process return orders, process outgoing laundry to launderer, keeping records of damaged/ unused/mislabeled linens, pick and pull outgoing orders, collaborate with Ops Manager on subrentals, etc.

Job requirements: working on your feet, ability to lift 50 lbs., lots of counting, attention to detail, punctuality and dependability, listening to warehouse crew singing Hamilton soundtrack occasionally, etc.
Starting pay is $18/hour.

Office/Rental Coordinator

Main duties: Respond to customer inquiries, provide info on products and services, troubleshoot and resolve client issues and concerns, etc.

Job requirements: customer service experience, comfort working with normal office software/equipment, weekday and weekend availability, problem solving skills, positive attitude and generally chill vibes.
Starting pay is $18/hour.
